Wilhyme is the Americana and rock project of Fort Worth songwriter Dave Koenig. Raised under the wide West Texas sky, he writes plainspoken songs about the day job, the open road and looking for the good. His debut EP, Stars By Moonlight, arrives March 26, 2027.
Wilhyme is the music of Dave Koenig, a songwriter who grew up in Lubbock and now calls Fort Worth home. The songs sit between Americana and rock: electric enough to fill a bar, honest enough for a living room.
Koenig writes about ordinary things that turn out to matter. “Let’s Slow Down” is a love letter written from behind a desk. “Stars By Moonlight” asks how long we put off what we want to keep what we don’t. “Good Things Happen” is a reminder to keep your head up or miss it all, and “Red Devil” turns a long, sleepless fight into something that won’t win.
After years of solo shows built on an acoustic guitar and a loop pedal, Wilhyme steps out in 2027 with a full band and a six-song debut EP, Stars By Moonlight, led by three singles starting January 15. The name has a story too: there’s a Wilhelm behind it.
